Pulled this off a social media site:

WE WON!

In a monumental decision, the Minnesota Court of Appeals struck down PolyMet’s permits to mine.
As of today, PolyMet cannot construct or operate its proposed copper-sulfide mine.

We reverse the DNR’s decisions granting the permit to mine and dam-safety permits for the NorthMet [PolyMet] project, and remand for the DNR for a contested case hearing.

- From the Court's ruling

No freakin' kidding!

Unfortunately, Wisconsin residents don't get a vote.

Both houses in Wisconsin are held by the Republicans.  It's inconceivable that they would do anything to stop it if they could.  I believe that both Michigan houses are in the same shape.  I suppose there is a chance for executive power through the Michigan DNR.  The real hope, though lies with the Menominee Tribe.

Hopefully so.  I don't know if they have been packed in Michigan.

Yeah...that's not the point.

Let's not drag political parties into place where they have zero influence and any conjecture you may have to offer is just guessing...

I'm no fan of either party as they both chase dollars, not representation of their citizens.

This is a wildly inappropriate place to beat your party drum.

Exactly.  Keep the (worthless) parties out of it.

There's almost nothing that interests me less than going down your nonsensical rat hole about how the parties are the same, equally bad, don't matter, politics doesn't effect the environment etc.  If you want to vote republican and pretend that it doesn't effect the environment, go ahead.  If you want to argue about it, do it without me this time.

You're finally catching on.  It's a worthless discussion.  Politics in general is worthless.

But you keep trying to drag parties into it, and you act surprised when someone calls you on it...and you got most of the details wrong in your mini-rant. Again.

It's only a worthless discussion when you are involved in it.  That was well demonstrated the time we had this argument and you took your ball and went home.  I'm not interested in doing the work of arguing you into a corner again for demonstration purposes.

Wrong.  You're the one who keeps bringing politics to a fishing forum.

Never happened.

Me neither.  Politics remains worthless, and divisive at the party level on a fishing forum.

...but evidence suggests, since you keep dragging the dead cat into the room, that you are interested in making points with people who think like you and not listening to anyone else.

It's too bad that you choose to use politics as a divider, rather than uniting people on the the 90% or so of things they agree on.  I thought you were too sharp a cat for that.
