Wolf River for June 7th-9th.

From: "Nowlan, Andrew"

Arrived the afternoon of the 7th to the trout section of the Wolf River. We found the river to be quite high with the current heavy. Wading was difficult with three dunkings and two lost wading staffs in our group of six. The water temperature was between 64 and 66 depending on where you fished. There were many different insects hatching, 5-6 different mayflies, caddis and even some Stoneflies seen.

However, no surface activity. A few fish over the weekend were taken on nymphs swung in front of boulders and some fish did take dries, but they were small. Fishing was very slow and difficult. One night we did see a massive spinner fall of Gray Drakes but only small fish rising, and they were picky too! Fishing should get good once the water level comes down to a manageable level.
