Comments: Fished the Wolf River more to say we did it than to actually catch fish. We went to the Military Park access so the kids could have some room to run since we didn't expect much in the way of fishing. We got exactly that--not much.
I had one fish on, and lost it (Hmm, this branch almost feels like a fi ... oops). Paula fished for about three hours, and had a couple of taps, but no connections.
The fish are still scattered, but the water level is coming down quickly. I would predict the best fly fishing opening day in the last six years. If conditions remain the same, I'd expect the water to be slightly high and clear. The fish may start to stack up around riffles and pocket water. Water temperatures should range from 50 to 55 degrees.
