Wolf River
USGS Flow Data for Wolf River at Langlade

"The Mighty Wolf"
Trickling creeks converge,
and streams meandering merge.
Building momentum,
rushing crescendo.
Following the valleys,
and blanketed hills divide.
Now thin and fast,
now slow and winding wide.
Majestic white pines
used to grace the banks.
They swam away,
now they're gone,
the river's barren flanks.
Black bear haunt, eagle's soar,
rushing river, rapid's roar.
Mayfly, stonefly, trout galore.
Where FLW flipped a fly
with Cap and his hairwing drake surprise.
It's there I go
in mind and play,
it's there, I know,
I'll die some day.
