Comments: Fished the Willow River last night with some people from my fly fishing club. I've been skunked at that river a few times. But every dog has his day. I caught a nice brown trout and three smallmouth in about an hour's time. I fished the Willow Run near where the river it splits into two streams. The rest of the group fished the Willow Race, which has a better reputation.

Two of the smallmouth were plam sized, but one was over 12 inches, and the brown was about 14 inches. I caught the brown on a streamer that no one in the group could identify. I think it's actually a saltwater pattern. I caught the bass on an olive wooley bugger.
