Streamside Report

W.Branch of White

Waushara

8/27/98

Weather: 74deg. & rain
Water: clear
Hatches: gray and dk.brown caddis
Time: 4:00/8:00 pm.

Comments:I had the opportunity to fish a different section of the White than in the past. This is a wooded small stream type area. Casts had to be short and accurate or you'll have a fly full of foliage. Gravel and rock make up a quite a bit of the base of this section. It's a beautiful piece of stream especially for those who don't need 40' casts and huge trout to experiance satisfaction.

As I got to the stream the rain started and also the caddis activity. I suppose I was matching the hatch in that I was useing a caddis pattern. However these guys were no more than 18's. I was useing 14's and 16's in order to see the fly on the rain spattered stream.

I almost forgot, the reason your reading this. There were several small rainbow caught with the largest being 10". One nise brown of perhaps 12". It was just nise to get back out. Shucks, even the rain was refreshing.
