Streamside Report

Tomorrow/Waupaca

Waupaca

7-30-98

Weather: perfect
Water: low
Hatches: E. Lukon
Time: 7:30pm - 9:30 pm

Comments: I guess the Lukons are starting. Lots were flirting around above the water when I got there, but not a lot of activity. Right about 8 or so fish starting breaking the surface and for the next hour they were feeding very aggressively.

I fished a size 14 white wulf and had pretty good luck catching lots of Browns in the 10 to 12 inch range, and a few larger ones. I just moved here and I don't know the streams real well, but I local told me the water is ver low. Still, as night fell the fish were feeding in knee deep water, and some bigger fish were in deeper holes.

This was really the first time I've been in a feeding frenzy like that, it was incredible.

Because I'm new to the area, I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some hints on where the better water is, although I've obviously found one spot.

Good luck, and good Fishing.
