Weather: Sunny upper 70's
Water: clear and normal
Hatches: Black Quill, BWO, Sulpher
Time: Afternoon and Evening
Comments: I took off in the early afternoon to try and catch the end of the Hendrickson. When I got to the river I found a few Black Quill and few BWO hatching and a few rises. I tried to fish to the ones that were rising but with the bright sun the fish were put down easily. I found one pool with about 20 fish in it, they were just sitting on the bottom taking a nap and soaking up the rays. They seem to be happy that the warm weather was finally here:-)
I decided to headed for a different part of the river around 4:30 and when I did I found cars at every bridge and DNR parking lot! I final found a spot where there was only one car so I went down river hoping not to run into that person.
As fate would have it I found some nice water after walking down river a while. About 6pm the Sulphrs to begain to hatch in good numbers and the fishing became good. There were also some BWO hatching along with the Sulphers. I was able to catch fish on either pattern. As it got close to dark the was a good spiner fall, egg sacks and all.
