Tommorrow River

Portage/Waupaca

5/31 & 6/1

Weather: Bright Sun, hot, windyWater: Clear, good level
Hatches: sulphurs, dark midges
Time: 6 p.m. to dark both days

Comments: Fished the Lowere Tommorrow Saturday night after driving home from Black Earth Creek. Found a decent Sulphur hatch on the lower. The fish were taking a size 16 parachute sulphur. There were also a few tiny midges that the fish were taking. Caught many brown trout from 8 - 12 inches long.

Sunday night was a bit tougher fishing. Still managed to catch some fish on thh sulphur imitation, but they were more selective tonight....WHY? Guess if we could always figure out the fish this would get boring. The best fish of the night refused every sulphur I threw at him but finally took a size 20 griffith's gnat. I got a good look at him before he ran me into a root tangle and came off!!! There was a good cloud of spinners above a riffle right before dark, but they were above the water and not much activity from the fish below.

Decent hatches every day - I love this time of year!!
