Comments: I fished from cty rd A downstream to the damn-type-thing. There were a few small browns in the pool below the bridge rising to #18-22 BWO's or midges, for I can't tell they're too small. I fished a B-head olive #16 nymph down deep (3 split shot) and caught 4 fish. I have been concentrating on the slow deeper stuff cuz that's where they have been holding. This is strange to me cuz I'm used to fishing later in the season on the wolf river for rainbows in the riffles and even the fastest water i can find, which can be very very fast. This brings up the idea of Rainbows in the Tomorrow. Why not. I seems to be good rainbow trout water, at least parts of the river. I would think thay would do well. It would spice things up a little. Browns can be such dinks sometimes. I believe the water is some-what alkaline which i believe would be condusive to healthy Rainbow pop. Yes i do catch a brookie in the lower tomorrow every 2 years or so, that's just not spicey enough.

Anyhow, I worked down stream from A (looking for boring browns) and switched to my last black tungstern bead-head prince nymph. My second swing in a relatively shallow riffle I had a Brown(p00p trout) hit it at the end of the swing, with tight line, and that BROWN trout busted my 3X tippet. bye bye Prince.

Resorted to a #14 Bead-head Hare's ear working down the stream catching numerou 9-11 inch browns in rel. shallow water underneith overhanging trees. They seem to be starting to move out into riffles a little, but still mostly in the deeper pools.

Nothing big today. I did however land a 16 incher however, just upstream of Waupaca a few weekends ago. I was fishing a deep run with a b-head prince (of course). Surprisingly nice water down there. More silty stuff covering the gravel, probably not good for reproduction down there.

I'm probably done fishin for a while. I'm in college and too poor right now to afford a fishin liscence. Can't wait for The Wold to warm up. Big strong football Rainbows(real trout)
