Comments: Arrived on the stream about 10:00am. I was suprised to find the water level so low for this time of year. But having lost our runoff weeks earlier i guess i should'nt have. I tried swimming a combination pheasant tail and prince nymph through fast pocket water but had no luck as the water temps. were just to cold. I figured they must be hold up in the slower deeper pools. when i started fishing the same combination i started to pick up fish. It was so wonderful to feel that familiar head bang at the end of the rod. I also swam wollybuggers and clouser minnows through the deep holes all very productive.

I t was just a wonderful day on the stream. It reminded me of the reason i love to fish for trout. I love to catch fish, but i love where you find them. The views are spectacular! We are so fortunate to live in Wisconsin! Just a reminder about the spring conservation hearings- th! ey are votings on keeping the early catch and release trout season. Please vote YES. The DNR has determined that it has no negative effect on reproduction and surviveability of fish caught with barbless hooks is over 90%.

One other reminder during the cold weather months please net the fish and keep them in the water any more than 30 seconds out of the water in cold temps could cause their gills to freeze reducing their chance of survival.
