Timber Coulee

Lacrosse/Vernon

6/30/99

Weather: Overcast
Water: clear
Hatches: Tiny BWO's and midges
Time: morning to mid-afternoon

Comments: Fished on Timber Coulee and another area stream with my dad for the day. Trying to catch a few fish for the grill while camping out. What better place than the Coulee system which can use a little thinning out.

Got out early but not much was happening until around 10:30. Started hooking into a few using a scud/PT nymph combo. Despite rumblings I heard about Timber Coulee fish seeming to get smaller this year compared to other years, most of the fish I caught exceeded the 9" size limit. Ended up catching a half dozen or so fish, most of them between 10" and 12". Made for a great meal back at the West Fork Sport's Club campground.
