Weather: too warm for March!
Water: high, murky, warm!
Hatches: winter stones, midges
Time: all day
Comments: Started the weekend early Friday on the Sheboygan River. Found the water high, murky, and 52F!! That's quite warm considering its only March. I have a feeling the fish are a bit confused by the quick warm-up. I didn't have any hook-ups. Pulled out and checked out the Pigeon River. Found the same water conditions same as the Sheboygan. Did see a few redds and 2 fish, but didn't hook any. Decide to trek north and fish the East/West Twin.
Lots of water and lots of people on the West Twin. Headed to the East with only an hour of light left. Found the water high, murky, and 49F - a much better temp. A few fish were on redds, but they must have been hit hard early in the day because they were very spooky. Did not hook any.
Started Saturday morning very early back where I had spotted redds. Fish did not get active until mid-morning. Landed 2, broke off 3, and lost others. Pretty good fishing, but if the water keeps rising its going to get a lot tougher.
