Rush River

Pierce

8/22/99

Weather: Overcast
Water: clear
Hatches: Tricos
Time: Mid Day

Comments: Although the tricos were coming off, I left them to the Cedar Waxwings and fished a #14 Elk Hair Caddis. This is an astoundingly consistent Summer pattern on the Rush. All you need is a black body on it. No palmered hackle or any other fancy accoutriments. I fished the riffles and runs and had great luck landing several in two or so hours. Last weekend I put a #18 bead head hairs ear as a dropper and had lots of takes on that. The river is fishing wonderfully at this point in time. Last night's rain may stain the water but it will clear. Very exciting!
