Rush River

Pierce

3/20/99

Weather: Sunny and WINDY
Water: Stained
Hatches: Midges Beatis
Time: 9:00am - 3:30

Comments: Saturday the 20th the Rush was Stained from the sonwmelt. The fishing was off as well. Combine that with the howling wind and if it werent for seeing four bald eagles, the day would have been kind of a bummer. All the usual spots had no risers and the midges just werent doing it. We could have lobbed nymphs and scuds but we tried swinging #18 soft hackles instead. They took two nice fish. I did manage to fool a brown with a bwo but that was my only fish. We had fun though. The beatis started at like 2:45 and were actually starting tocome off real well right when we had to leave. Fish this hatch from 3:00 on.

(ps) David Crosby's new band CPR is fantastic!!
