Comments: I was Fishing the Rush River on County road A. The fishing action has slowed down a little bit from last weekend but I still managed to land one nice 16 inch rainbow on a fire tiger thunderstick. I caught a 14 inch brown on the next cast. That was it for the thunderstick because the trout were biting better on my black panther martin. I landed two 13 inch browns and one 13 inch rainbow in about 45min to and hour. The action has slowed but some fish are still waiting to attack that lure as it wobbles buy.
My day ended when I was wading through knee deep rapids (really fast water) and I hit a hole that went to my chest. Of course my hip boots quickly filled with water. I had to stop and drain out the water. By the time I reached my vehicle my lower body was frozen. I turned on the heater and just sat there for a while.
Remember fisherman, it's cold out there and hypothermia can kill easily. You should always carry matches in a water proof case. If I hadn't been near my car I might not be here today. Boy is it cold! I think I am going to wait for the regular season to fish again.
