Comments: I met my son on at Oak Creek at 8am and he said not much was happening in spite of some nice flows. We went to the Root River in Racine. Some real nice 8-12 lb. fish were caught after 9am. The spawn sac anglers did most of the catching. One angler got a 3 lb. brown on a spinner. We fished yarn flies, black stones, and egg sucking leeches without a hit. The water level was great and it was fairly clear. The fish were scattered from the weir to the golf course pond. The eastern European guys from Illinois were catching/not snagging and rude as always. The weir is open of course so the fish are spread out which gives anglers a chance to spread out more than normal. If you can go during the week' I would go. We saw only one fish in the Pike but it was an unidentified monster. My son caught a 32 inch 19 inch girth brown on an orange/chartreuse yarn flylast week Feb 1st; shucks no camera for the release.
