Comments: Fishing today was some of the best fishing I have ever experienced on the Prairie. In the morning hours I fished the upper portion of the river (Hackbarths and up) and landed quite a few Browns in the 11 to 13 inch range on 14 and 16 Bead Head Hare's Ears. In the afternoon as the water temp rose there was a midge hatch. I had changed locations and went to the bloomville area where there was significant action. Decent Brookies (9 to 11in) were eagerly taking sz 14 B.H. Pheasant-tails and sz 20 Desert storm midge patterns. Most of the fish were caught in shallow riffles and runs. Towards dusk the midge hatch was still steady and I had a few fish take my Bio-Strike. I decided to try a new pattern, a shucking midge (dry). I landed numerous fish on that pattern, including a 14 inch Brown in a 6 to 8 inch deep riffle! It was a day I won't soon forget...43 Trout in all.
