Streamside Report

Port Washington

Ozaukee

9 nov 98

Weather: Mild
Water: Extremely clear
Hatches: none
Time: Afternoon

Comments: Fished early afternoon, in the harbour. Water was low and gin clear, however, with southwesterly winds the water was warm. High number and density of browns and steelhead on the reef in front of the discharge. No success, other than three kings of less than admirable physical condition. Of note--there are SOOOO many coho in sauk creek, with a vast number of "clean" fish. No takers-though. Water conditions in the creek, however, are ankle deep to a trickle. Figuring the browns should be coming in in the next two weeks, the fishing should improve after the salmon run is completely over. Trying again soon....
