Weather: Brezzy to start
Water: Low
Hatches: Olive midge, Small grey Mayfly
Time: Noon til dark
Comments: Fished a warmwater pond on saturday. The Bluegills were a blast. Even hooked into a nice largemouth on my GL2 6'6" 3wt. Some of the Bass we caught were already spawned out. Some Bluegills were on there beds. Everything is really early this year.
Changed tactics on Sunday and fished the fresh hatchery fish. At first I was living a nightmare. Hundreds of trout rising,(some clearing three feet), but no hits on a dryfly. A couple of HOURS later, I switched to a nymph of my own creation and the difference was night and day. Most fish were between 6 and 11 inches. Very colorful. The new rod got a workout this weekend. It was more fun then a person should be allowed to have.
