Streamside Report

Plover

Marathon

5/30/98

Weather: Clear, cool
Water: moderate flow
Hatches: Brown drake, a few hex
Time: 8:00pm

Comments: Went out to area 'near' public fishing grounds on N. Small numbers of Brown Drakes at tree top level. Never came down near the water - too cool for much to happen in the way of hexagenia yet.

My brother Matt caught (and released) one small brook trout. Very quiet...no one else out but us... quite a change from the Black Earth Creek near Madison where a proposal to install parking meters may not be out of line....
