Comments: What a beautiful spring day! Today I ventured out on the Plover River and tried my luck both with flies and spinning tackle (barbless hooks, of course).
Well, once again my spinning tackle outperformed. I caught and released two 8" browns and had at least 3 other hits that I missed, one of which was of good size brown at least 15 inches. I saw him go after my spoon and he hit it fast and caught me off guard.
I am a new flyfisherman and tried my luck with the black wooly bugger #10. I had no such luck, but at least I got some good practice time in perfecting my cast. You definitely get better with experience.
Tight lines!
