Peshtigo

Forest

07/05/97

Weather: Wind, overcast,70's
Water: Little high and dirty, cool
Hatches: Lt. Cahills, (White Millers?)
Time: 3:00p.m. -7:30p.m.

Comments: Went to escape the crowds on Saturday and met a bunch of people on the river. The water was a lot cooler then I've been fishing. Might be the rain or just the river. I'm not that familiar with the peshtigo. I knew the fishing would be good when I felt it, though. The fish seemed to have slowed down in the warmer waters I fished this later part of June. It was refreshing to fish some more active fish. Caught a few. Both Brookies and Browns. Lost my last Adams early in the day and was prolly a good thing cause I switched to a #16 White Wulff and did well. I did see some white caddis coming off the water. Is it too early for White Millers? I expect to see them more toward the end of august. The Lt. Cahill hatch kept the fish rising.
