Weather: Sunny & 70
Water: Clear and low
Hatches: Sand Flies
Time: All Day
Comments: Opening day of kill season and I damn near got skunked. Started off on the Oconto, just south of Laona. Water was surprisingly low and warm. Caught a 10" brook on a 22 adams parachute and that was the last trout seen all day.
Spent the rest of the day fishing the Peshtigo from Cty 8 and downstream thru Burnt Bridge, Camp 8 Creek and also Armstrong Creek. All had very low water and way too many chubs. Where did all the trout go? Quite disheartening to see these sorts of conditions this early. At least the beer was cold and my loops only moderately sloppy.
