Weather: Sunny 45 degrees
Water: clear/calm
Hatches: midges
Time: 7am to noon
Comments: Cabin fever set in so I tried paradise springs. Had the place to myself until 10:30 or so. Midges hatching. Had a few takes and five break offs on griffiths gnat #20 and a brassie #22. Landed an awesome rainbow on a brassie. He had some battle scars and another brassie in his jaw when I netted him. Picked up a gorgeous brown around 20 inches in a #18 olive scud. Looks like the poachers have taken their toll here. Fish were few and far between. Saw a lot of hooks and pink Power Bait on the banks and in the trees. A couple of teenagers landed some nice fish using white Power Grubs. A beautiful day to get out. Can't wait till March.
