Well I figured that if I was half way to the Oconto River after attending Bob's Fly Fish Wisconsin Show I should go fishing. I was a real hard decision to make with the sun poking out and the temps in the the Mid 40's ("Ya right" is want my wife said.)
Well it sure felt good to get back on the water and cast a rod again. I try fishing in a few runs and pools and had only one hit in a 1.5 hours of fishing. There were a few other fishermen on the rivers but it was in no way crowed.
How ever there was a good crowd on hand for Bob's Fly Fish Wisconsin Show. With the show be held at the Watering Hole in Green Bay the was plenty of room to cast all the rods that many different Rod vendors. The Watering hole has many volley ball courts that were open up for people to try out rods. It was a great chance to cast and compare rods side by side.
The best part of the show for me was being able to watch Bob Blumreich tie Spay flies Go to URL to see some of bob flies. http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Rapids/4433/ I've been trying to tie them myself by reading up on them. But getting to sit down and see Bob tie one is sure a whole lot better. All the little things that go into tying a fly can make a big difference.
