Weather: High 70's, Light Rain
Water: Water level good, Temp?
Hatches: some emerging caddis
Time: 6am-noon, 4pm-8pm
Comments: Fished up river from 12 ft. falls to 18 ft. falls. A few rising fish to emerging flys. Caught 3 small brook trout on lt. cahill, size 16, during the rain, in a slow moving part of the river. One took the fly as I crossed a log, leaving the fly floating behind me. In the afternoon, I fished down stream from 8 ft. falls, about 1/2 mile. Caught 8 fish in about 4 hours. No hatches seen, but the brook trout took elk hair caddis and lt. cahill flies fished above, in, and below faster moving riffles. It was alot of fun, all fish 6-8 inches, which was disappointing, but they will grow up for trips.
Does anyone ever catch a Brown or Rainbow out of the Pike?, I have yet to see one, after 3 trips this year.
