Comments: Caught several browns, among which one had something I have never seen, which were several parasites 6 inches or better attached to it....unfortunately, the fish slipped from my hands before i had a chance to remove them. Upon reporting this to the DNR, they tell me there are, in fact several species of native lamprey...silver and chestnut, of which these most likely were....Hopefully they are not common... the fish did seem otherwise healthy, but if I had it to do over again, I think I would definitely remove them, and toss them onto shore, before releasing the fish...I am a FIRM believer in catch and release.....after all, the grocery store is where you go to get food....
