Streamside Report

Mt. Vernon

Dane

March 13

Weather: Cold with snow flurries
Water: Clear
Hatches: B.W.O's and Midges
Time: Noon-3:P.M.

Comments: I spent the afternoon fishing Mt. Vernon and to my surprise got into my first dry-fly action of the season! Caught two small browns right away on a size #18 B.W.O. Later on in the same pool, I caught three more browns on a size #24 Black Midge. All the fish were small, but very eager to be feeding on the surface. Nymphing with a small olive nymph also produced a few more fish. I spent the last part of the afternoon hiking upstream and noticed fish actively feeding in several different pools. It was a rewarding day and I can't wait to get out again. Please send your reports in, I'm alway's interested in hearing how everybody is doing. Please remember to practice catch and release!
