Comments: I know, I know.... the spring run is over. Nonetheless, I went down near the stadium just to look (my 5 weight happened to be in the back, however). I had the place to myself. To my surprise, I found a group of fresh steelies in the shade under the bridges, amidst the hundreds of suckers that have moved in. Caught and released two (including a second catch of the same fish twice)all on olive colored soft hackles. They were nice fish, fought great, pretty colors, etc. Upstream I spotted what appeared to be a small brown holding near the west bank (go figure). Couldn't reach it, as I did not have waders. Just goes to show you what a little optimism and polarized lenses can do for you!
