Weather: 72-cloudy
Water: clear
Hatches: sulfers
Time: 3:30p.m.-7:30p.m.
Comments: I fished the upper Mecan yesterday. This is above Richford. I'm sure that it's not the most productive stretch of water in Wis. but it is where I started my dry fly fishing and it holds some sentimental value.
I started about 3:30 and about 4:30 a few sulfers started popping. As more duns showed themselves so did the suttle bubble rises of the browns. In some places they were very selective and I couldn't get them to take. In oter places a #16 Adams tied traditional style provided plenty of action. All fish were 12" or smaller but on a 7' 3wt provided plenty of enjoyment. It was a great day to be on a strem in central Wisconsin.
