Comments: Stopped by the Mecan on my way back from the Laona area. Middle of the day, bright sun and windy. Water very clear with good depth. Fished for several hours downstream from Richford the day after kill season opened. Caught several nice browns 10"-14" on #14 black wooly buggers, but had no luck either nymphing or using any sort of dry fly. Not surprisingly, the fish were very spooky, but I did have the river to myself...
