Comments: Fished Kewaunee River Friday 5/2. Hit the stream around 7am and was the only angler there. The river was high and muddy. The river was hard to fish. Stopped by the DNR wier and could see steelhead moving upstream. Moved on the Stony Creek and the water was normal and clear. Landed a 3 pound steelhead on fifth cast using a orange yarn ball. Lost another on the very next cast. Later in the mourning I landed a colorfully 9lb buck that tested every bit of my 10# leader. He nailed a egg-sucking leech. The kewaunee river should be good around mid-week. The best part there are no crowds. Only saw seven anglers all day. There stlill is some good steelhead action to be had!
