Comments: Started out fishing a Forest co. spring pond sat. from 6:30a.m.-9:30a.m. Three of us fishing and 1 brookie. Rises were few, sparse midge hatch in between rain showers. Tried many different things, all hits were very light. Fished Brule Cr. and Elvoy Cr. during the day, insects also sparse and very few rises. We picked up 12 brookies and 1 brown-151/2" for about 4hrs. on the water. Most of the brookies were small. The browns stomach was stuffed with caddis larva and some fine stones, definately rooting on the bottom. Went back to the pond for the evening, rain stopped, sun came out, midges started hatching but not many rises. Most were small trout. Picked up 1 more brookie. Again all the hits we had were light. Saw a beautiful black bear on hwy. 70 on the way back to the cabin which made the day worth while. Fished the Pine R. on Sun. morning for 3 hrs. We saw 3 fish rise between the 3 of us and here too the hit were light and we managed 8 brookies, again mostly sm! all. Until next time.
