Steelhead Report

SE Wisconsin from the FlyFishers!

March 27th. 1997

Southeast Wisconsin Stealhead streams have been producing decent fishing. Lower, clear conditions are present. Smaller darker flies like stone fly nymphs, wooly buggers, and coal cars have been successful.

The Menomonee and Root Rivers have had the best fishing. The Milwaukee has provided some success also. The Pike near Kenosha has had its run of fish hampered by a large sand bar that formed in the river mouth.

An inch or two of rain would be welcomed and would bring more fish into the streams.
