Steelhead Reports

East Twin/Sheboygan

Manitowoc/Sheboygan

3/7/98

Weather: Sunny, 34 F
Water: 36 F, good flow
Hatches: N/A
Time: 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Comments: Fished the East Twin at Shoto on Saturday morning. Water level was fairly low for spring. Water was also quite clear. Only saw one fish hooked at the dam. It appears that the fish that came up with the earlier rains have gone back down the river.

Then drove to the Sheboygan River. Talked to a few people who said the fishing had been fair. My brother landed one small male steelhead in 3 hours of fishing. The water was a very good level, and slighty muddy. Looked like there should have been lots of fish, but we couldn't prove it. Still felt good to get out. The best fishing is yet to come!
