Plenty of Lake Michigan's dark King Salmon are available, but the warm, low water has not been conducive to attracting big numbers of browns nor steelhead. There are some around, but only few. The current rains will help if we get enough of it. So do your raindance.

Sadly, No. So far it appears that steelhead and browns are rare in the tributaries. The cohos just have just shown up this week and they usually precede the trout.
Low water and a warm September and October may be the culprit. The steelhead can wait, although they will be damned hungry from missing the egg buffet, but the browns are going to have to spawn somewhere.
But there are SOME steelhead around. Fish deep. Good luck.

The Milwaukee finally has quite a few trout in the places you know. Some browns are leaping and giving themselves away. I assume that steelhead are among them. Remember that with the low flows, they need to have deeper water close by for their security. I must add that the bite is really tough. So many fish and so few takes.

I found a patch with rising lake-run browns after our chat and landed (and measured) a handsome 35 inch male. Personal best by 6 inches. Next November I can show you where.
I hope you are all better by March and April when the steelhead show is on. Even you are limping, you can still fish.
