Waaaay too much power. There's very little depth-of-field at such high mag. If you wiggle a tiny bit, you'll lose focus.

I have this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Carson-MagniFlex-Gooseneck-Magnifier-CP-90/dp/B00CM1YQFA/...

But I know I got it on a sale much better than the listed price (I'm cheap and would never spend that much). It works well and I find that once I move it to the right spot, the depth of field is fairly decent. It's helped make tying more fun as I can see what I'm doing again.

Is the base magnetic, or the bottom of the mount? If it is the base, it would stop those tungsten beads from rolling off my tying bench. And hold hooks in place.

There is a magnet in the light, but the base is not magnitized. However, the base has a 1/4 inch or so raised edge that keeps things in the middle, mostly. I set my pedestal vise on the base of the light and it works OK but stuff still falls off but I'm messy and clumsy.

I'm sure you can get magnetic sheets - like the stuff refrigerator magnet are made of that could be cut to the size of the base but I've not done it. Add lazy to messy and clumsy.

We use magnetic sheets to mount loose flexographic plates on for our customers who are too cheap to buy full mounts.

For a while it was hard to find, but we've secured a good supply.

I use a desk lamp with a magnifying glass in the middle. Bought it on ebay before.

SLIMY - look at the reviews, many have negative comments...but of course they're still all given 5 stars.
