Just wanted to say hi. I'm new to the board and fly fishing so I hope to learn a lot from everybody here. Looks like a great local forum. Nice job.

Welcome.  Only a couple of guidelines for happiness on the board:
1. Naming streams is frowned upon.
2. Nothing in the Purist's Paradise forum is serious or to be believed.

whoa, whoa! what?

" I want you to observe, that those who cry the loudest about their disillusionment, about the failure of virtue, the futility of reason, the impotence of logic - are those who have achieved the full, exact, logical result of the ideas they preached, so mercilessly logical that they dare not identify it. In a world that proclaims the non-existence of the mind, the moral righteousness of rule by brute force, the penalizing of the competent in favour of the incompetent, the sacrifice of the best to the worst - in such a world, the best have to turn against society and have to become it's deadliest enemies."

Phil is right (and, for the record, JGN is often wrong) - The Purist Paradise is great for self-deprecation - not so great for learning much. Unless what you want to learn is that dry fly fishing is far superior to nymphing. That you can believe.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome - as you have discovered, this is a great local forum. My advice though is to try to not learn alot from everybody here. Very few of the posters really know anything about fly fishing.

I think you owe the guy that much
