Streamside Report

Castle rock creek

grant

8/24/97

Weather: 78 and partly cloudy
Water: a bit of runoff
Hatches: midges,a few mayflies, lotsa hoppers
Time: 9am to 4pm

Comments: good action on hopper patterns and crickets. Fish are very skiddish! Took a few browns on beadhead patterns. Below the doc smith branch is not worth the trouble if there is any sort of rain. The dnr should really try to remedy this situation. Near the spring head several decent fish are always working. Took a few on size 20 beetles and one 15 inch rainbow on a brassie dropper.
