Weather: 70 and light rain
Water: muddied
Hatches: size 22-24 mayflies
Time: 1-4 pm
Comments: I fished the Black earth out of curiosity. The weather had been bad, and the stream levels were up.I searched for risers and saw very few. The weeds are grown over once again, so nymphs were out of the question. No luck on any dries. I switched to a size 8 muddler and received many flashes all throughout the class five water and even up to the bridge on the farm road. I caught 4 10-13 inch browns. I later tried the large pool above the bridge with various streamers and hooked two, catching a 17-18 inch brown(my biggest black earth fish by far!) and lost another possibly of the same size. When the water is muddy, don't give up and go for the streamers!
