Comments: There were no hatches on our stretch of the stream for opening day, but we managed to catch 6 fish on the surface and a couple underneath. The fish I caught fell for a caddis pattern skimmed on the surface at the end of the drift. My fishing buddy caught three on a parachute grasshopper pattern, which I usually love to fish but couldn't convince myself to tie it on. Too weird!
