The past couple of weeks has been slow going on B.E. Creek. The clear water and the heavy pressure has made the fishing harder than it was the first week of March. We're still taking fish but the stream hasn't turned on yet,but we're close.
Saturday brought out the first of the tan caddis, midges and a few Mayflies but the highlite of the weekendwas the spotting of a few adult stoneflies.
In 20 years of flyfishing this stream, I have never before seen such a sight. Who knows, maybe we'll all be chasing stones in a couple of years. Afterall, we now have a particular mayfly hatch to fish that we didn't have just a couple of years ago. The fish I have been taking have been on Scuds, Woolly Buggers and Leeches. With the water still rising I would say B.E. will be fishable sometime in April, like after the tenth,
I've got to go now!, need to check the basement for stream excess.
