Comments: First time out this year. Coaxed a couple of nice 11-12" Browns out of hiding on the Big Green with a #16 tan parachute caddis, and deep drifting a #16 bead head scud in green. Little black flies were relentless and annoying in deep grass. More open, windy sections more comfortable. My bug spray was like candy to those sinister little specks. Also had a big 'ol brown on after floating a #14 olive scud over him. Bad footing on rise in river bank and to-close-for-comfort beef cattle nosing around contributed to rusty technique and unsuccessful landing. Good luck! (Any reports on Castle Rock Creek would be appreciated.)
