Streamside Report

Big Green River

Grant

4-12-99

Weather: sunny 55degrees
Water: normal
Hatches: little black caddis
Time: 7am-7pm

Comments: I started fishing in the morning with nymphs (caddis,PT,Olivesand sow bugs), all with great success, a couple over 18". About 1pm there was a blanket of little black caddis on the water, much to my suprise there were no fish rising to them. The naturals were so thick on the water I didnt even put a dry immatation on.I continued to use the underwater arsenal with many hookups. I had heard that there was a fish kill on the Green due to farm run-off, if thats true it had to be downstream of where I fished as the Green was as kind as it normally is.
